The multi-millionaire Harry Potter author has decided to cash in on the luxury property in Edinburgh after moving to a new place in the city.

The house is sure to attract interest from fans of the boy wizard as it includes the study where Rowling wrote many of the books. The eight-bedroomed home in Edinburgh’s upmarket Merchiston area has been put on the market for offers over £2,250,000 by estate agents Rettie.

It features five double bedrooms, a drawing room, a summerhouse, landscaped gardens and its own library. The brochure says it is “an exceptional detached family house”.

Rowling bought another home in Edinburgh in December 2009 and moved in permanently last year.
